BACKGROUND INFORMATION
 
The birth of Anambra State University Uli Pre-Science Programme took place almost simultaneously with the inception of other programmes in the University and was an event in the historical development of higher education in Nigeria. The present Anambra
 

State University Pre-Science Programme came into existence on 4th April 2001.One of the major
objectives of the founding fathers of ANSU included the encouragement and promotion of science-based disciplines gears towards the enhancement of Science, Technology and other science-related disciplines. It was in view of this that the pre-science programme which hitherto existed in the defunct Anambra State University of Science and Technology (ASUTECH) was retained.The Pre-Science Programme was formally located at Igbariam Campus of the University, but has been moved to the main Campus at Uli.The programme is organized by the pre-science committee which reports directly to the Vice Chancellor. The committee is made up of the chairman, coordinator and others appointed by the Vice Chancellor. There are also the Administrative, works and security support staff. Lectures are given by lecturers appointed by the committee.
